We will only collect sensitive information by specified means and for the specified purposes of Play Therapy including notes, reports, correspondence or other therapy purposes. You are not required to disclose this information if you do not wish, however this may impact the services we are able to provide.

Use of Your Information
We may collect your personal information within Play Therapy notes, reports, correspondence or other therapy purposes.
We will also disclose your information if required to do so by law, when permitted under the Privacy Act – for example, where we have reasonable grounds to suspect that unlawful activity, or misconduct of a serious nature, that relates to my functions or activities has been, is being or may be engaged in, and in response to a subpoena, discovery request or a court order.
Waves Play Therapy supports children and those who love them. All therapists at Waves Play Therapy are mandatory reporters and are required by law to report any suspected child abuse or neglect. As per relevant Federal and State legislation, health service provider is required to keep records for 7 years or, in the case of a child, until the child turns 25.

Security
We are committed to securely storing and handling your sensitive information and will do our best to ensure your personal information is protected from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. We do this by storing electronic data on a Client Record Management system, which is password protected and only able to be accessed by therapists at Waves Play Therapy. If we no longer need, or are no longer required under Australian law, to store your personal information, we will de-identify and/or destroy the information. Your personal information may also be stored with our third-party provider, Splose, which will be managed under their security policy which can be viewed at Privacy Policy • splose.
Access to Information
Please email kathryn@wavesplaytherapy.com.au to request access to your information. You can request to access, correct or update your personal information at any time. Unless we are subject to a confidentiality obligation or some other restriction on giving access to the information which permits us to refuse you access under the Privacy Act, and we believe there is a valid reason for doing so, we will endeavour to make your information available you.
